Master Wong's Taekwon-Do career started in 1970 with the desire to learn Self Defence and
develop physical fitness. It has exceeded far beyond his expectations giving him opportunity to observe and learn much more about what the Art
of Taekwon-Do really stands for. Since the birth of Taekwon-Do on April 11, 1955
in Korea, it has spread to every corner of the World existing under many
different organizations and systems.
As one of the most experienced and senior Tekwon-Do Instructors in Australia and the South Pacific region, with over 40 years of continuous training,
practice and teaching, Master Wong aims to promote a New Direction and Focus in Martial Arts Training 'teaching the traditional spirit and philosophy of Taekwon-Do on the original Spirit and Philospy of Tekwon-Do.
Taekwon-Do Kidokwan was established by Master Peter Wong in Melbourne, Australia following his promotion by Master Yun Y K to ITF 4TH Dan Black Belt International Instructor and Examiner in 1988.
Taekwon-Do Kidokwan aims to promote the Traditional Spirit and Philosophy of Taekwon-Do as founded by General Choi Hong Hi with strong emphasis on the Art centered on the development of Moral Character and uphold the tenets of Tae kwon-Do Humanity, Integrity, Indomitable Spirit, Self Control and Perserverance.
KI is the Vital Energy Force within oneself, DO is the Way and KWAN is the School.
In essence, Taekwon-Do Kidokwan is the Holistic Korean Martial Art of focusing ones vital energy towards development of strong moral character, integrity, indomitable spirit, mental discipline, physical health, practical self defence, self control, self confidence and self esteem. This cultivation and focusing the Ki within oneself will led towards achieving Balance and Harmony of Mind, Body and Spirit.
